Transportation Infrastructure Modeling BIM Integration Predictive Maintenance

Transit Hub Modernization

Challenge

Four construction phases had to proceed without closing live platforms, across three legacy design files that didn't agree with each other.

Approach

A federated digital twin reconciled architectural, structural, and MEP models, with the phasing sequence layered on top to flag conflicts before crews mobilized.

Outcome

Sequencing conflicts caught in review instead of the field; phase handoffs documented in the model rather than email threads.

Illustrative composite, not a verified client result.

Healthcare Facilities Advisory DT Readiness IoT Monitoring

Riverside Health Campus

Challenge

Three buildings, three generations of building systems, and a facilities team monitoring critical infrastructure through disconnected dashboards.

Approach

A readiness assessment identified which systems could feed a twin without new hardware, then a phased IoT rollout consolidated monitoring into one live model.

Outcome

Faster fault detection on critical systems; one live dashboard replacing four disconnected ones.

Illustrative composite, not a verified client result.

Industrial & Logistics BIM Integration Lifecycle Simulation

Meridian Logistics Park

Challenge

A design-build delivery model meant geometry from four disciplines rarely matched by the time of each milestone submission.

Approach

BIM authoring tools were integrated into one federated pipeline, with lifecycle simulations run against energy and racking-system wear scenarios before procurement.

Outcome

Model discrepancies resolved before submission; capital planning grounded in simulated wear data instead of vendor estimates.

Illustrative composite, not a verified client result.

Adaptive BIM/CIM for Digital Twining of Automated Shotcreting Process

Showed how an adaptive BIM/CIM model can act as the digital twin of a robotic shotcreting process, keeping design, planning and robot execution in sync on site. Hosted by the Technical University of Munich.

Digital twin platform for real-time visualisation and control of robotic shotcreting

A week-long Horizon Europe consortium meeting, hosted by Christiansen og Essenbæk at the project’s new testbed, to integrate the Inspection-Reconnaissance mobile robot (IRR) and run the first experimental tests. Our digital twin links the robots, IoT sensors and site data, showing where as-built progress differs from the plan across all three construction phases. The week also included three technical workshops on user involvement, learning resources and user requirements.
